Life In Good Measure

It is about people, history and your own place on the map

Transparency

We humans have a need to cover our bodies, and for good reason. All the biological ones, and psychological. It’s a pretty necessary thing to do – unless you’re on a nudist beach, in the privacy of a bathroom, with your lover etc.

So usually we do cover our bodies. And we often over our thoughts and intentions as well. It is a necessary thing to do in order to protect our integrity and proceed with our objectives. We may share our thoughts and plans with people, but fundamentally we are alone with our inner life.

Transparency may be a blessing in disguise, but also just that – a blessing! Or like Deepak Chopra writes in his book “I am”: FIND THE QUOTATION…………….XXXXX

That is freedom.

Yet, perhaps an even more form of transparency lies in governmental level. And there too, the same laws rule: what you see is not what you get, but much more lies beneath the surface. We are offered only the basics of what concern us as citizens of a state and members of a society, and in some countries not even that. Much lies unseen, and sometimes with covert illegal means.

A hundred per cent transparency may be too much to ask, but true democracy is defined by the transparency of its government. So that the citizens know where they’re at, and on what to base their own decisions when it is time to vote.
