Life In Good Measure

It is about people, history and your own place on the map

Inertia

We’ve all probably experienced it at one point or another: the curse of inertia. Inertia could be seen as the other side of the coin where “the better side” has rest (add italics) printed on it. But whereas rest is a positive and necessary thing, really needed as a balancing ingredient between action, inertia is its negative counterpart, making it difficult to go back to action.

And we can see it happening in so many areas of our lives. Not going to your class because you missed the last one, and are worried about getting behind – and you will.

Not going to see that friend of yours because you haven’t seen him or her for a long time, and you feel bad about it. And even worse now.

Not going to donate blood because you suspect – with no real basis for that doubt – that your blood won’t be strong enough. Leading perhaps to not donating for years even though you are normally eligible every three (women) or four (men) months.
