Time for another Who Said That! Try to guess or remember who is behind the quotation below, and if you don’t know, you’ll see who at the very end of the article. Remember to scroll slowly. So, who said:
Always remember that you are absolutely unique.
Just like everyone else.
That’s something we know instinctively. That we are unique. But sometimes we may forget that the other person is that too. Especially when he or she represents just another unknown, vague, uninteresting person that we may never encounter again.
But we do know that everyone’s unique. It is just that sometimes it is easier to see them as just parts of a crowd instead of a potential acquaintance or friend. We are like bubbles in the air that may never touch the surface of another. So why bother. We may think. So “they” remain vague, and their uniqueness as well.
But it doesn’t take much to be attached - perhaps just the wind blowing - and experience the self of another being first hand. And for them to experience ours. The further we are from each other, the more unlikely it might seem to ever come face to face, but life has its turns and turnovers, and we might get lucky and stumble upon a uniqueness that matches our own.
And who was is that said that?
Margaret Mead, the famous American cultural anthropologist from Philadelphia who in 1976 was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame. For all her unique accomplishments.
