Ever wonder when you are walking along streets abroad - or even in your home country - about the names in the street signs? Who gave the name to a particular street, square or park - and on what grounds was he or she bestowed the honor?
Here follows a new series of articles which will go through cities in different parts of the world. It will tell about the people of that city and country through its streets, squares, bridges and parks. This is a neat way to learn about the history and culture of the city you are visiting! Streets of my hometown Helsinki will start the series, followed by Streets of New York, Berlin, Paris, Stockholm etc. So first the capitals and other big cities, and every now and then some smaller ones springled in between the bigger ones.
