Life In Good Measure

It is about people, history and your own place on the map

Every Minute, Every Second

As you walk through life, you get to hear a lot of sayings thought out and uttered by myriad of people throughout decades, centuries. Sayings like “history repeats itself”. Sayings that tell us that life goes on like it always does no matter what happens. With its compulsory variations depending on who we are, where we are, and when we are.

But do you ever pause to think that every minute, and perhaps every second, all things possible are happening somewhere in the world?

Someone is being born, right this second. Someone is dying, right now. Someone is being killed, someone released from prison. Someone is being helped, and someone is crying over a lost fortune. Someone is laughing out loud, and someone sobbing in solitude.

Every minute, every second things are happening to us. Because of us. Despite of us. Things that may or may not change lives, things that go unnoticed except for those concerned.

As you walk along the sidewalk, you may bump into someone who may change your life. Or you may look at the sky and see a UFO. Anything is possible, only if only a handful things are probable.

And if every minute and every second anything might happen, think how many opportunities you have at your disposal to make a life-changing decision. Any moment you have a thought. Which is almost any time you are awake. The possibilities are almost limitless, and lke that one saying goes: “Your only limitation is the one you set up in your own mind”.

Anyway, it is a beautiful thought. That even with all the bad things happening to people, even with all the bad intentions and bad decisions, there are a myriad of good thoughts and good actions that propel us towards good deeds so that in every given minute, every given second, good things may happen - to any of us.

It may or may not make you appreciate life more, but one thing is certain: unless you are open to change, those minutes and seconds may pass you by like in no time at all.
